So here we are a few days before the New Year. Not a lot to do. 2011 plans and budget were finished months ago.
Wait! This isn't you?
Well if you're like many, you're playing catch up to your advertising plans for the start of the year. Maybe you've hastily signed a few agreements to keep current year rates but other than that, you have no true plan for your advertising dollars for the coming quarter.
Time to get back to basics!
1. Identify your budget. No matter the amount, you need to set aside something for advertising.
2. Account for any commitments you already made. They will have to come off the top.
3. Refer to your strategies and objectives. These help you stay focused during crunch time so you make sound decisions.
4. Keep the messaging on track. Regardless of where you are advertising, make sure your message speaks to your target audience.
5. Move forward and don't get stuck. Getting a late start with a plan is better than floundering into the New Year with no plan at all.
